About the Aeronautics and Space Science Program

The project interventions are hinged under the NDP III  STI Interventions and Respective Actors. 

STI Interventions

Objective 1- intervention 4 sets to establish a Space Science and Aeronautics Technology Institute; 

Objective 2- intervention 4 sets to design and implement special programmes for space exploration; 

Objective 3-intervention 7 to develop, oversee and implement programmes in new and emerging areas of space science and technology. 

In addition, NDP III (Table 17.2, p.184): Qualifications and Skills Needs for Innovation, Technology Development and Transfer Programme, space specialists whose skills are in short supply and training not available in country have been listed. The project intends to implement the first four (4) of the five (5) STI-SDP (Sector development Plan) objectives (NDP III, p.181) which are:

To develop requisite STI infrastructureTo build human resource capacity in STITo strengthen Research and Development (R & D) capacities and applications.

To increase development, transfer and adaptation of appropriate technologies and innovation.

1.To develop requisite space weather science and education infrastructure; 

2. To build human resource capacity in space weather science and education; 

3. To strengthen R & D capacities and applications in space weather science and education.
